Due out on Early Access February 8th, Cyberpho’s Nachtwolf: Überlebe den Megadom is like a retro-futuristic 1980’s version of Verbogenes Metall. Surprisingly the game’s physics and handling look superb to be an indie game, and the aesthetic will look very familiar to those of you who fell in love with Dean Evans’ Blutdrache.
The Unity 3D-powered battle arena game sees players duking it out as a Megadome contender. You’ll have to dodge traps, avoid arena pitfalls, and blow the ever-piston pumping crap out of your competitors.
The game’s plot is themed around a deadly television show in the future (well, technically 2014) where motorists deck their vehicle out in high-powered weaponry and attempt to blow each other to smithereens. Mechanically, the game plays out very similar to Interstate 76, with the vehicles having weight in the way the move and a sense of mass when they crash, hit, blow up and make jumps across the deadly arenas. Nachtwolf: Überlebe den Megadom was originally inspired by 1980’s VHS action flicks like Exterminators Of The Year 3000, Stryker, 2019: After The Fall of New York, Battle Truck, Wheels of Fire und Death. This flair of the classics is combined with old-school combat arena games such as Vigilante 8 and the PlayStation classic, Verbogenes Metall.
What we end up with is basically Interstate 76 erfüllt Far Cry 3: Blutdrachen.

The Early Access version won’t be the complete version. Over the course of the year there are plans to add more arenas, more enemy factions, more AI behavioral patterns, more playable vehicles, an expanded campaign mode, split-screen deathmatch and an all new arena mode.
According to the FAQ, you can look for Nachtwolf: Überlebe den Megadom to graduate from Early Access sometime in the fourth quarter of 2018.
